                                              A medical scribe is a doctor's assistant who is in charge of recording patients' medical histories or any information dictated to them. A medical scribe is in charge of obtaining information and documentation for patients during their visit in order to assist doctors and other medical staff in processing patients as quickly as feasible.

                                    A medical scribe's most important skill is medical terminology. Because they are in responsible of accurately recording patient encounters, medical scribes must be well-versed in medical terminology and acronyms. Additional qualifications include strong typing and computer skills, listening and communication talents, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

                                    The role of the medical scribe may differ from one healthcare setting to the next based on the demands of the department or practice. Because this is a new field, the position is not as well defined as it is in medicine. Physicians are in charge of addressing the parameters of tasks and responsibilities for healthcare scribes within a specific department, clinical, or practice.
