MEDICAL SCRIBING

                                Medical scribing is the procedure through which a particularly educated medical scribe records and documents a physician's real-time patient contacts. The scribe joins the physician and patient in the exam room, and the physician dictates the patient's history and physical findings, as well as any treatment plan or diagnosis, into a microphone. 

A Medical Scribe's responsibilities include the following:

• Document patient encounters accurately in real time.
• Ensure that healthcare regulations are followed.
• Collect medical history, medications, allergies, and immunization data from patients.
• Fill out the patient orders in the electronic medical record.
• Transcribe doctor's orders
• Help providers obtain lab reports and imaging investigations.
• Keep track of overdue orders and testing.
• To meet coding rules, ensure the correctness of medical documentation.
• Assist with medical billing and coding
